It is the very life of the Amazon and the earth that has been prayed over, cared for, and harvested with the permission of the spirits of each element. Every medicine that comes from our hands carries with it the whisper of the river, the strength of the jaguar, the brilliance of the sun, and the silence of the sacred night. Do not seek only a product, seek a relationship. By receiving these medicines, you are inviting a master into your home. Long, long ago, when the Amazon rainforest and its rivers were younger than the elders' memories, the Great Spirit felt alone. He watched his children, humans, walk the earth without a guide, their hearts heavy and their minds filled with noise. He saw how they grew sick with the sorrows of their souls, how they became lost in the darkness of night, and how they forgot the language of animals and plants. The Great Spirit looked around, searching for a medicine that could connect his children to the voice of the jungle. He searched the waters that reflected the moon, the rocks that held the memory of time, but he found nothing strong enough. Then his gaze fell upon a wild tobacco plant, a humble plant that grew in the shade of the great trees. The Great Spirit whispered a prayer to the plant, a prayer of protection and wisdom. The tobacco, hearing the prayer, was filled with a powerful energy, but it was still a plant, and his children needed a medicine that could be carried and shared. One night, a wise, elderly shaman named Tawa felt the call of the Great Spirit. He dreamed of a sacred tobacco, which had to be ground and mixed with the ash of trees that had witnessed the history of the world. Upon waking, Tawa set out in search of the answer to his dream. He walked through the jungle, and each tree he encountered offered him ash with a special meaning. From the bark of the Samauma, the "mother of all trees," he obtained the ash that connected heaven and earth. From the bark of the Tsunu, the "tree of stability," he obtained the ash that anchored the spirit to the body. From the herbs that grew on the riverbank, he obtained the ash that calmed the mind. Tawa ground the herbs and ashes with the sacred tobacco, while chanting prayers and songs he had learned from the jungle. The mixture became a fine, sacred powder, filled with the whisper of nature. Tawa blew the powder into his apprentice's nose, and instantly, the apprentice felt a profound cleansing, as if a river were washing over his body and mind. He felt a connection with the Great Spirit and with all the creatures of the jungle. From that day forward, rapé became the sacred medicine of the Amazonian peoples. It is used to purify the soul, to heal the body, to connect with ancestral wisdom, and to honor the life of the rainforest. And so, every time a shaman blows rapé into a participant's nose, the Great Spirit smiles, knowing that his children have once again heard the whisper of the jungle.

Millennia ago, in the heart of the Amazon, lived a seeker named Kari. Kari felt that the world he saw with his eyes was merely a thin blanket covering a much deeper reality, but he didn't know how to lift it. One day, while walking through the jungle in a state of deep fasting and prayer, the jungle began to vibrate. It wasn't a sound, but a feeling. He found himself before an ancient vine, thick and twisted like a cosmic serpent: Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi). Upon touching it, he heard a feminine voice, as deep as the earth: " I am the rope that binds the worlds, but my voice is silent. Seek my sister, the one with eyes of light, so that I may speak."

Kari wandered for days until she found a shrub with bright green leaves: the Chacruna (Psychotria viridis). As she approached, the leaves seemed to flash with a white light. It was vision, clarity, the fire of the spirit. Following a divine intuition, Kari took the vine and the leaves to her fire. Under the full moon, she boiled them in pure spring water. As the brew bubbled, the spirit of the jungle taught her the Icaros (sacred songs) that should be sung to balance the energy.

Kari drank the dark, bitter liquid. At first, he felt an ancient fear, but then something astonishing happened: The Death of the Ego: He felt his bones transform into roots and his blood into sap. He understood that he was not a separate individual, but a cell of the Earth's body. The Great Serpent: Before him manifested the Great Cosmic Anaconda, the DNA of creation, which showed him how the universe is woven with threads of light and sound. The Healing: He saw his own pain and shadows as dark stains, and learned that forgiveness and love were the only true medicine. Upon awakening, Kari was not the same. He possessed the knowledge of plants, the ability to see the illnesses of the soul, and the duty to protect life.

Kari returned to her village and shared the brew. Thus was born the Ayahuasca Ceremony, not as a distraction, but as a school of truth. The ancient shamans understood that the plant is "Grandmother": a stern yet loving teacher who removes the blindfold so you can see your own divinity.
